Drink responsibly
Standard drinks, pacing, and why water belongs on the table
In Australia, a “standard drink” is a fixed amount of pure alcohol (10 g). The label on your bottle or can tells you how many standard drinks are in a serve. That number is more useful for comparing products than guessing by glass size alone.
Pacing matters: your body processes alcohol over time, and drinking faster than you metabolise it raises risk quickly. Alternating with water or a non-alcoholic option, eating before or while you drink, and choosing lower-ABV serves when you want a longer evening are all practical ways to stay in control.
